Fabric Basket Swap

Swap Blog Button for Contest

I couldn't help myself, no really I couldn't.  I made my first fabric basket less than two months ago and I'm hooked.  It's fun and I love making them.  So...when Leona posted for a fabric basket swap, I absolutely had to sign up.  My partner hasn't really given me much to go on so this is going to be more of a challenge than I was thinking.

Help me! How can I incorporate bright colors and low volume together? I am in the creation phase but so far - I'm stuck.

  1. Crikey Julie, that's a tough one - what about a low volume outside with a bright inside or vice versa? Can't think of any other way around it! Look forward to seeing what you come up with :)

  2. I initially was thinking same as Chrissie D but then... I just finished some plus blocks where the whole block was low volume except the plus which was bright. We are all doing these blocks and sending them to one bee mate who is making a lap quilt for one of our members as a surprise. So I'm thinking you could shrink the pattern down (a lot) and make mini plus blocks for the whole outside of the basket. Then do the inside of the basket bright and the underside of the handles bright?? Just a thought...

  4. Do the handles and the bottom portion in one or the other and the blocks in the opposite. Tricky!
